What Are The Different Types of Machine Strapping

Polyester (PET)

Polyester (PET)

PET can be smooth or embossed with a glossy  appearance that is very difficult to split. Benefits include:

  • High strength/tension
  • PET is made in 3/8” minimum
  • Low elongation
  • Ideal for larger packages
  • Available in green or black
  • Recyclability/sustainability
  • Safer than Steel
  • Used with Semi-Automatic, Automatic/Arch and Pallet Strapping machines
Polypropylene (PP)

Polypropylene (PP)

Polypropylene is an economical solution that is usually, but not always, textured or embossed. Polypropylene is most commonly made in black, white, yellow, and clear.

  • PP made in 3/16” minimum
  • Easy to open seals
  • Better colors, printing & branding
  • Lighter weight (30 lb/coil vs. 50 lbs/coil)
  • Used commonly for light-duty bundling and arch machines (ex. newspapers)
Steel Strapping

Steel Strapping

Ideal for industrial applications and extreme loads, steel strapping is rigid, durable and suitable for extreme conditions. Consider variations in tensile strength, coils and application:

  • OSC (Oscillated Wound Coil) is wound in a narrow coil (like a roll of tape), commonly used for manual and semi-automatic applications.
  • RBW ( Ribbon Wound Coil) is wound in a single layer, typically used in high-volume, automated applications
  • Available in High Tensile and or  Standard duty and multiple finishes.
  • Wide range of width and thickness to fit your operations
