Request a DemoWhat Are The Different Types of Industrial Conveyors?
Used for transporting smaller items, industrial conveying systems often utilize continuous belts made of synthetic fabric or interlocking plastic modules. They offer fast speeds, ability to incline, decline and curve as well as options in width, length, sidewalls, and cleats. Learn more about the differences in fabric and modular belts in our comparison chart below.

Low-Duty Conveyors
Small and lightweight conveyors are ideal for small items such as small parts, pharmaceutical, medical, mail and parcel sorting and other small/lightweight items. Options vary by configuration:
Load Capacity: Generally around 50lbs per foot, varies by model.
Speed: 80 ft/min - 400 ft/min
Materials: Made from Aluminum, plastic, or light-gauge steel frames.
Common Types: Fabric or modular belt conveyors, roller conveyors (gravity-fed or motorized)

Medium-Duty Conveyors
Ideal for moderate-weight products, cartons and mixed packaging like beverage bottling, canning, manufacturing lines, carton handling and case packing. Options vary by configuration:
Load Capacity: Generally 50-200lbs per foot, varies by model.
Speed: 250 ft/min - 400 ft/min
Materials: Made from heavier-gauge steel or aluminum for durability.
Common Types: Motorized roller conveyors, chain-driven roller conveyors, plastic belt conveyors

Heavy-Duty Conveyors
Durable conveyors built for heavy loads and larger items such as palletized goods, automotive and heavy equipment parts and bulk material. Options vary by configuration:
Load Capacity: Generally 200-1,00 lbs per foot, varies by model.
Speed: Up to 600 ft/min
Materials: Constructed from heavier-gauge steel or aluminum for durability.
Common Types: Chain-driven live roller conveyors, belt-driven heavy-duty conveyors, pallet conveyors, steel slat conveyors
